2008-2009

A collection of photos taken with my first camera that I eventually replaced. It was a present from my dad when I turned 18, easy to use, light as a feather. I started taking photos of friends in high school and it all started there. On the weekends, I'd capture trips with my family to visit my grandma living by USC. In college, I took it with me and documented pretty much anything and everything. Lectures, bathrooms, inebriated occurrences, unsuspecting family members eating and so on until I realized my camera had turned into an extra appendage. Eventually, my grandma who lived in LA passed away. She always enjoyed my photos and even when I didn't like anything I'd taken, she would smile and say it was a good frame. So here it is, a space of Retired Frames from earlier days. I hope that maybe someone sees an image that sparks a pleasant memory. Something happy, something merry. For me, it's a capsule of moments from the 2 years when I didn't bother learning how to use my camera, but making sure to capture the memories that did.

For all my recent work, please check out D.A.P.
